Happy first week back!

This week Kindergarten eased back into the swing of things. Everyone was so excited to see their friends so extra time was made to talk, share and work together. One of the most exciting activities this week involved working on spatial reasoning skills through pattern block puzzles. The learning target everyone is working towards is “I can compose simple shapes to form larger shapes.”

Students loved guessing which animal they were creating, and finding as many ways to build it as they could. They worked through three levels of puzzles. First, students completed puzzles with each shape outlined. When they became comfortable, the shape outlines were removed. Last, students worked on building their own pattern block puzzles for their classmates to complete next week.

This year has started off amazing, and the rest of the school year is sure to be full of joy and learning!
