The 2nd Grade explored Hell’s Gate State a week after the 3rd grade visit. Some highlights include spotting various species of waterfowl on the Lewiston Levee Pond like Wood Ducks, American Coots, Bufflehead Ducks, and Mallard Ducks. We also hiked throughout the hills looking for birds. Some species we spotted were Western Meadowlark, Belted Kingfisher, Red-Tailed Hawk, Raven, Canada Goose, Chickadee, Dark-Eyed Junco, and Northern Harrier. We explored the banks of the Snake River, finding cool rocks and macro-invertebrates. It was a beautiful day of spring weather and togetherness!
