This article highlights our collaboration with UI. Middle School Math teacher Erin Corwine worked closely with UI math ed researchers, first learning how to think about the ideas of 8th grade in new ways and then acting as the case study classroom for implementing these ideas as part of the 8th grade math curriculum. The LLAMA lessons help create an engaging curriculum for 8th grade math that centers logic and argument as an access point for teaching many of the 8th grade math topics. Students love learning how to argue better!
