Hello Palouse Prairie! I’m your new CREW Counselor and
Behavior Specialist!
What is that you ask? Well let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about what I do.
My name is Jessie Dahlin. I have been a teacher at Palouse Prairie since it opened in 2009. I am also a parent of PPCS Alumni. Last year, when teachers were asked, “What is your biggest need?” they, including me, almost unanimously agreed we needed a school counselor and/or behavior interventionist to help our students learn the skills they need to self manage, problem-solve and overcome challenges. So here I am with my EL Education knowledge, responsive approach to problem-solving, and my passion for helping kids be their best selves. My goal is to give consistency and intentionality to our school climate, behavior intervention, problem solving, conflict resolution, and ultimately our spirit of crew.
Here is where you can find me most days:
8:25 Morning Meeting in one of our K-5 classrooms joining them in their crew building and getting to know all students.
9:00 In classrooms or in my office meeting with students, teachers, families or working on ways to support teachers and students and our school goals.
10:50 Lunch supervision focusing on making lunch a safe, calm and rejuvenating time for our students.
12:30 Back into classrooms or in meetings with students working on skills to help them be successful in school.
2:20 Crew Meeting in one of our Middle School classrooms joining them in their crew building and getting to know all students.
2:50 Loading the bus and focusing on making the bus ride look, sound and feel how our students said they wanted. (If your child is a bus rider, I hope you saw the expectations students and I created together)
3:00 Meeting with teachers to troubleshoot any issues and make plans to help our students.
You can also find me on Fridays co-leading Community Circle with Jeneille Branen in our new exciting approach where we are all active participants in learning about how to live our 10 design principles and be the change we want to see in our classrooms, school, and community. Come join us this Friday at 8:40 as we celebrate National Dot Day!
A lot of exciting things are happening at PPCS and it is only the beginning! I look forward to seeing you around school and if you have any questions, concerns or kind suggestions, please feel free to email me.

Call of the Wild T-shirts still for sale!
Last year’s 3rd graders’ final product was a beautifully and creatively designed T-Shirt. The scratch art was created by students and collaged into a wolf and fish yin-yang design representing balanced ecosystems. We ordered extras and they are for sale! If you are interested please stop by the office and check out what sizes we have. They are now only $14. All profits go to supporting future expeditions.
