As a charter school in Idaho, Palouse Prairie receives state funding based on enrollment and federal funding but is not eligible to receive local property tax funding. Property tax revenues, in the forms of bonds and levies, typically pay for facility costs for other public schools. To put this into perspective, Palouse Prairie has similar staffing, facility and program needs as regular public schools, with less income. We must rely on the generosity of our parents, staff, board, alumni community members and on partnerships with other agencies to meet all our fiscal needs.

Palouse Prairie is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. Your donation can be deducted on your Federal taxes and, new for 2010, Idaho has lifted the cap on donations, now Idaho tax payers receive income tax credit of fifty percent of ALL the charitable contributions made to an Idaho public school. The law is H0665 education 2010.
